In short: the JSON / text you enter is processed entirely within your browser and is never uploaded to our servers; we keep only limited-retention server access logs (7 days) for operation and security. The full statement follows.

2. What information we collect
We keep data minimal and only deal with three categories: 1. Your input (JSON / text / files): processed entirely in your browser — we do not collect, upload or store it; the share feature only packs data into the URL fragment (after #) to build a link locally, sending nothing to a server. 2. Server access logs: recorded automatically by the hosting server (see “Storage location and retention” below). 3. Local interface preferences: such as theme (dark / light), language and recent edits, stored only in your browser’s localStorage and never uploaded.
3. How information is collected
Your input is provided by you actively pasting, typing, dropping a file, or via URL parameters; server access logs are collected automatically by the server when you visit a page; interface preferences are saved locally as you use the Site. We do not collect information through any hidden means.
4. Purpose of each category
Server access logs: used solely for operating the service, troubleshooting, and preventing abuse / attacks. Local interface preferences: used solely to remember your settings and improve your experience. We expressly commit not to use the above for profiling, advertising, sharing / selling to others, or for automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Legal basis for processing
Chinese mainland (PIPL): processing of server access logs is necessary to provide the service to you and to fulfil statutory network-security obligations. EU (GDPR): the basis for processing access logs is our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service. Your local preference data stays on your own device and does not constitute processing of personal information by us.
6. Third-party sharing and processors
We do not share your personal information with any third party, do not use a third-party content delivery network (CDN) that would expose access data, and integrate no third-party analytics, advertising or social tracking scripts; nor do we entrust any third party to process personal information. Exceptions apply where required to cooperate with regulators or judicial authorities under the law.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses no tracking cookies and performs no cross-site tracking. We use only functional local storage (localStorage) to keep your interface preferences and recent edits, which you can clear anytime via the in-page “Clear” action or your browser settings.
8. Storage location and retention
Server access logs are stored on servers within mainland China and retained for 7 days, after which they are rotated and cleared. Your input is not stored on the server. Local interface preferences live on your own device, under your control, until you clear them.
9. Cross-border data transfer
Your input is always processed locally in your browser, with no cross-border transfer; server access logs are stored domestically. The Site involves no cross-border provision of personal information.
10. Data security measures
We protect server access logs with measures proportionate to their sensitivity, including access control, encryption in transit, and log minimization. Because your input never leaves your browser, its security rests primarily with your own device and browser environment.
11. Your rights and how to exercise them
To the extent applicable law provides, you have rights to access, copy, correct or supplement, and delete personal information, and to withdraw consent. Because the Site does not collect or store your personal information, such requests are usually unnecessary; local preference data can be cleared by you. To exercise rights regarding server access logs, or for questions, contact us at support@json3.com. The Site has no account system — ceasing to use the Site stops the corresponding processing.
12. Protection of minors
The Site is a developer tool and is not designed for children. Minors should use it with the consent and guidance of a guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 14; if you believe we may have, please contact us at support@json3.com.
13. Updates and effective date
This policy takes effect on 2026-06-03. We may update it from time to time and publish the latest version on this page; for material changes we will give prominent notice. We recommend reviewing this policy about every 12 months.
14. Complaints and regulators
If you believe our handling of personal information has harmed your rights, you may first complain to us at support@json3.com and we will handle it promptly; you also have the right to complain to a competent regulator (such as the cyberspace or personal-information-protection authorities in mainland China, or the relevant EU data protection authority).
15. Data breach notification
If a breach, alteration or loss of personal information occurs that may endanger your rights, we will take timely remedial measures in accordance with the law and notify affected users and the relevant regulators as required by applicable law.

We strive to make this Site, including this policy page, conform to WCAG 2.1 so that all users, including people with disabilities, can access and read its content.
